Privacy

Craftdot is a static website, and we like it that way.

What we collect

  • Anonymous traffic counts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies, without fingerprinting, and without following you to other sites.
  • Email you send us. If you write to admin@craftdot.com, we have your email address because you sent it. We use it to reply, and for nothing else.

What we don't do

  • No advertising trackers, no cross-site cookies, no sale or sharing of any reader data.
  • Downloads are direct files — grabbing a printable requires no account, no email address, and no personal information of any kind.

Third parties

The site is served by Cloudflare, whose infrastructure sees standard web request logs (IP address, browser type) as part of delivering any website. Their handling is governed by their own privacy policy.

YouTube API Services

Craftdot has a YouTube channel, and we've set up access to YouTube API Services so that our own automation could post our own craft videos there. Nothing has been posted yet — the channel is empty, and no video has ever gone up through the API. We're describing it here anyway, because we do hold the key below, and you should know what it is.

  • We collect no YouTube data about you. We have no user accounts, no sign-in, and no feature that touches anyone else's YouTube account or watch history. The only YouTube account involved is our own channel's.
  • What we store is one key to our own front door — an OAuth token that would let us upload to the Craftdot channel, and nothing else. It lives on our own machine, it has never been used to upload anything, and it can only ever act as Craftdot.
  • Using the API means Google's rules apply too. By using YouTube API Services we are bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of any data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Revoking access. Anyone can review and revoke an application's access to their own Google account at security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. That's the page we use for our own channel too.
